Your Niche is…
In this issue, we're diving into the unique challenges that Online Business Owners (Coaches, consultants, creatives, entrepreneurs etc.) face in the digital realm and exploring effective strategies to overcome them.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to enhance your existing online presence, these insights are designed to help you thrive in a crowded digital marketplace.
Here are 10 COMMON obstacles you’ll face in attracting and retaining clients for your Business ONLINE:
Visibility in a Saturated Market:
Standing out in an overcrowded online space can be daunting. It might feel as though you have a lack of prospects, people not responding to your brand messaging or a continuous competition for attention in the market.
The Red Ocean strategy WILL be a thing if you believe it to be. The Red ocean strategy is when companies try to outperform their rivals to grab a greater share of existing demand. As the market space gets crowded, prospects for profits and growth are reduced.
The Blue Ocean exists too and all about creating and capturing uncontested market space making competition irrelevant. To create a Blue Ocean, you can create a market that no one else is able to compete with you in.
What you can do to create a Blue Ocean is focus on niche marketing. By targeting a specific audience, you can tailor your messaging and services to meet their unique needs, making your offerings more appealing.
Building Trust with Potential Clients:
Online environments lack the personal touch of face-to-face interactions, making it harder to build trust. Social Media is a platform for an abundance of video content and live interactions so you can create a more personal connection with your audience. Sharing testimonials and success stories to provide social proof of your effectiveness is also a gamechanger in building trust with your audience and potential clients!
Technical Challenges and Accessibility:
The problem with being online is that not all clients are tech-savvy, and technical issues can hinder the business experience. The easiest way is to choose user-friendly platforms and provide clear instructions or assistance for using the technology. Ensure your website and materials are accessible to all users.
Effective Communication:
Miscommunications are more likely without the nuances of in-person interaction. Use clear, concise language in your communications. Follow up with summaries of sessions or discussions to ensure understanding.
Client Engagement and Retention:
Keeping clients engaged and committed in an online setting can be challenging. The best way is to offer interactive and personalized experiences for your products, services and experiences. These could be free challenges, guides, lives or ability to access you directly.
Regularly check in with clients and by doing so adjust your approach based on their feedback and progress.
Differentiating Services:
Distinguishing your services from countless others online can be difficult. Develop a unique value proposition whether it’s your story, your brand, your values.
What makes you unique?
What makes you different?
Highlight what makes your approach or services unique and focus on delivering exceptional quality to everyone you serve!
Consistent Brand Messaging:
Inconsistent messaging across various online platforms can confuse potential clients. Your brand message should be consistent across all platforms.
Your website, social media, and promotional materials should all convey the same core messages and values of the brand.
If you’re a real estate company and you value providing about real estate, talking about cleaning services isn’t aligned with what you have to offer. you’d probably talk about housing regulations, the market for buyers and sellers, how to get a housing loan etc..
Take a moment today to have a look at where your messaging is not aligned and see if all messaging on all platforms match.
Pricing and Value Proposition:
Clients may be hesitant to invest in services without understanding the value.
Clearly communicate the value of your services the best way of doing so is putting the value of what’s it worth in the open.
Be transparent about pricing and provide various options to accommodate different budgets. Hidden costs of signing up with you is what people are reluctant to
Remind yourself what is it worth to your audience?
And that they are worth the experience of their purchases.
Adapting to Market Changes:
The online market is dynamic and ever-changing, client needs and preferences can change rapidly as well to match that.
The best way to navigate the above is to stay informed about industry trends and be flexible in adapting your services.
Linkedin, Facebook and X/Twitter are awesome ways to stay ahead of the trend in your industry. I personally use Linkedin to keep informed about entrepreneurial market trends and where people are looking to spend their time and attention for the year end.
Time Zone and Scheduling Conflicts:
Coordinating sessions across different time zones can be complex. Use scheduling tools that account for time zone differences such as Calendly and offer a range of session times to cater to international clients.
If you’re holding live events or have different loss-leader campaigns (A loss-leader strategy is selling a product or service at a price that is not profitable but is sold to attract new customers or to sell additional products and services to those customers. Loss leading is a common practice when a business first enters a market).

All these obstacles are going to be there, it is up to us as business enthusiasts to navigate these and turn these into opportunities!
The number 1 thing that’ll keep you in Business!

Be Relational NOT transactional
The business owners that’ll last in this game are the ones that think in relationships not transactions. Business is all about relationships and people first!
Stop thinking that you are entitled for results you have not earned yet.
Stop thinking of what you get out of helping your audience and spent time thinking on what you can give them.
And give something you have done or are doing!
If you’re not doing it, no wonder why people don’t feel you.
Business is simple.
Do the work required and you get rewarded for doing the work.
100% congruency! 100% alignment! 100% vibration!
Be the example of what you preach and serve exactly that!
Organising, planning, thinking about the work is not doing the work.
And all of it doesn’t have to be a struggle too, if it doesn’t feel fun, why do it at all?
If it doesn’t feel exhilarating why put yourself through it all?
If it doesn’t challenge you either, are you even growing from it?
Transactions are made when the trust is there.
Trust is there when you’ve spent time on it.
Think in lifetime relationships and be rewarded for a lifetime.
